Saxmoe students can always expect a great private music lesson experience. That is why I have policies in place so that you know what to expect. Ages 10 and up accepted for woodwind and brass students; you are never to old to study music lessons.
Music Lesson Tuition
Tuition is due on the first day of each month and is late if not received by the seventh. Tuition is $150 per month, and the late fee is $10. Even if you do not attend your first lesson of the month, you are responsible for paying your tuition by the deadline.
If you know in advance that you have to miss a lesson during the coming month, contact me to discuss prorated tuition for that month. You cannot pay a prorated amount for a lesson month without discussing it with me in advance. You cannot deduct from the following month's tuition for lessons that you miss.
Registration Fees: There is a one-time $15 registration fee for new students.
Refunds: There are no refunds.
Forms Of Payment: I accept only cash and checks as payment.
Lesson Rescheduling & Makeups
Teaching is how I earn a living, so it is important to have a policy that is fair to both of us. If you need to miss a lesson, you must leave a message 24 hours in advance. Makeup lessons are only given for legitimate reasons, such as illness or personal and family emergencies. If you must miss a lesson for other reasons, call in advance to see if you can reschedule to an open time (if available). Please schedule doctor and orthodontist appointments on a non-lesson day.
Holding Lesson Spots
There may be times when you need to take a month off. As a rule, holding spots is not something I do as I cannot make a living doing so. If you absolutely have to have your spot held for the month that you are gone, discuss it with me as there may be some payment or prepayment arrangement we can come to as a guarantee that you will return. If you decide not to return after your missed month, for any reason, you forfeit the payment. If you are going to be gone for more than a month, your spot cannot be held.
I usually will give the fifth lesson and build up vacation time. Tuition is based on four lessons per month, 48 lessons per year.
